Let’s start with our motivation for decentralization:
we will provide a more equitable and financially sustainable ecosystem for mobility than what we perceive to be predatory business practices by the likes of UBER, BOLT or Grab.
Our targeted result: the very first decentralized mobility dApp goes live in Nigeria, onboarding of all ride hailing drivers and fleets and in future even more types of mobilities.
RECAP OF SCOPE — WHAT ARE WE BUILDING THERE
Following this mission, bloXmove is building the technical infrastructure to launch a “Decentralized UBER” in Nigeria. The scope is to provide users, drivers and transport operators with a decentralized and shared transaction network. This network for #decentralized #mobility packages all transaction logic needed to handle access control, check-in, check-out as well as settlement and payment in ERC20 tokens into an open, shared protocol deployed as smart contracts on the Celo Foundation blockchain.
Multiple payment options are included and users, as well as providers, can not only conduct their transactions in FIAT (Naira, US-Dollar) but also in crypto (BLXM).

THE VIBRANT MARKET NIGERIA
The overall economic situation is entering a slowdown coupled with inflation. Yes, we had better times in crypto and blockchain development. The market dynamic as well as the global political situation have taken a real turn towards a prolonged slowdown. But at the same time, blockchain is entering a next level: real life use cases. The tokenization of assets, certificates, and tickets is becoming a topic of relevance. Especially in Africa, we see further legal legalizations and clarifications which have a positive impact on the crypto and wallet adoption. Growth is to be had in emerging markets — at the price of a higher risk profile. We have a clear strategy, commit to a structured roadmap and want to update you with regards to that.
LET’S GET SPECIFIC
What is in place? We have a team in Lagos, first fleet partnerships are in the making, first drivers are ready to do business with us, Go 2 market strategy is developed, communication channels are set up across social media platforms
We have a global team working on the Nigerian project, but the 5 core team members are in Nigeria.
We have opened talks with partners and collaborators across different sectors (Fintech, mobility, and logistics). Some of our collaborations are already yielding the desired results. We have open talks with several mobility partners. Some of these discussions are close to being concluded, and some we have concluded. As you know, the Nigerian project is an innovative one. It takes the partners some time to understand the concept and then decide to work with us.
Our go-to-market strategy focuses on the acquisition of drivers and then riders. From our research, we found that riders go where drivers are. To achieve this, we decided to open talks with the admin of a Facebook group with over 24k drivers, and we plan on using this platform, and others, to drive partner drivers to the platform.
OUR 3 MAIN STEPS TOWARDS THE GO LIVE:
- Mid of February: Beta testing campaign starts
- Beginning of March: Beta testing program runs
- End of March: Go live with the minimum viable product
YOU WILL BE FIRST: We are excited to start the beta testing program with local friends, families and you as our global BLXM community. You will get more details and a how to next week.
