Let the fun begin!
Today is the day… launch day. We enter a new level of shared mobility platforms: where decentralized collaboration is key, not centralized aggregation like Uber and Bolt are striving for. In our last article we explained the problems of mobility and the hassle for the drivers and users in Nigeria. Today it is about the opportunities, about the solutions provided by bloXmoveNG. Let us celebrate the Go Live of the fully functional, very first shared mobility dApp = decentralized app, exclusively with our pioneer partner MetrocabsNG. A few months ago we announced the start of our partnership, today is the start of the real-life collaboration in the Nigerian market.
You’ve never heard of a dApp? Let’s start with an overall clarification.
- Decentralized applications — also known as “dApps” or “dapps” — are digital applications that run on a blockchain network of computers instead of relying on a single computer.
- dApps are free from the control and interference of a single authority. A web app such as Uber or Twitter runs on a computer system that is owned and operated by a company that has authority over the app and its workings. No matter how many users there are, the backend is controlled by the company.
- The benefits of dApps include the safeguarding of user privacy, the lack of censorship, and the flexibility of development.
- Potential drawbacks include an inability to scale, challenges in developing a user interface, and difficulties in making code modifications
- Main areas where you can find: Financial services, Supply chain management; Identity verification, Real estate, Healthcare, Education, Social media
The pyramid model of solving mobility problems
We are solving the hassles of mobility in a pyramidal, bottom-up, model — from the base to the top of the user and driver problems that we have identified in Nigeria over the last months realizing our go to market strategy.
The first few solutions we are deploying to Nigeria
We designed the first product launch to solve two problems on the pyramid- the high and multi-layered cost and the pool of mobility assets and stakeholders’ disenfranchisement.
- User dApp: The user app manages all the logic that allows non-techies to book a ride. Presently, the rides available are cars and small buses, but our dApp logics are robust enough to handle intercity buses, train booking, tricycles, and other forms of transport that cater to last-mile journeys.
- Driver dApp: Our driver dApp has logic that separates independent drivers and company drivers’ onboarding process. The driver dApp allows independent drivers to operate free of interference, and company drivers are connected to their company. The earnings of company drivers go to the company wallet.
- Company Portal: fleet companies manage their drivers on the company portal. Here companies can add drivers, see drivers’ activities, receive drivers’ earnings, and remove drivers.
- VIN Portal: The VIN (“Vehicle INspection”) portal is a digital driver on-boarding and verification portal. It is used to on-board drivers through specialized, pre-screening companies who examine vehicle and driver history. It is designed to protect both the drivers and the users by ensuring the true identities of parties are known.
Solutions on our roadmap
If you have been here for a while, you will know that we have a set of products for the Nigerian market. Today we exclusively launch the ride and fleet platforms with our partner MetrocabsNG. The next mobility partners are already in the onboarding process to grow the ecosystem. Here are some of the key benefits of bloXmove NG:
- Efficiency: bloXmove NG’s decentralized platform allows for more efficient use of resources. For example, drivers can be matched with passengers more quickly and easily, and there is no need for centralized control or management.
- Affordability: bloXmove NG’s lower commission rates make it more affordable for both users and drivers. This is especially beneficial for low-income earners who rely on public transportation.
- Empowerment: bloXmove NG aims to empower mobility assets and stakeholders by giving them more control over their businesses. For example, independent drivers can operate independently without having to join a centralized platform.
The launch special to our global BLXM community
It is time to celebrate! So we prepared a ‘go live’ goodie for our global BLXM community, too — ’cause some of you are supporters from the very first bloXmove hour. As we told you in one of our former AMA sessions: we burn a part of the BLXM token when we launch with the bloXmoveNG products on the CELO mainnet. The bloXmove development team needs to deploy 5 million BLXM tokens on CELO in order to run the dApp based on that network.
We need to burn the corresponding amount of BLXM tokens on the ETH and BNB network in our current token circulation. That’s the easy explanation about the tokenomics logic for those of you who are interested in the background mechanism.
To celebrate our launch, as a special offer, we decided to burn 500.000 BLXM tokens — that is 1% of the token’s total cross-chain supply — as well.
Total Transactions:
- Burnt 2.5 million BLXM on Ethereum
- Burnt 3 million BLXM on BSC
- Minted 5 million BLXM on CELO
→ Total BURN of 500,000 BLXM
Starting today, we will burn BLXM tokens on a quarterly basis, based on the commission fees paid to that date. The commission fees in our launch period are 2.5%, later this is raised to up to 5%. Out of that percentage, we burn a minimum of 10%, with an additional percentage of up to 30% (so 40% in total) depending on the traction of our dApp. In case we exceed our expected traction — meaning booked rides via the bloXmoveNG mobility dApp — we add a bonus burn on top of the quarterly burns. This way, it stays exciting and we reward you for being an early BLXM community member and supporter.
We have the potential to make a significant impact on the way people move around in Nigeria and beyond. Today is our first entry, and it is worth watching as we continue to develop and to expand around the globe.
